Denise O'Connor joined Below the Radar in 2007, and immediately began work producing and directing the four-part fly-on-the wall prisons series “Life Inside”, one of BBC Northern Ireland’s top-rating programmes of 2008. Previously Denise worked as a researcher and AP for the BBC NI before moving to UTV as a producer on the “Insight” current affairs strand. Her credits there included investigations into the treatment of Belfast dockers suffering from work-acquired asbestosis by their employers and trade union; as well as an Insight special about the loyalist agent Mark Haddock.
